Extend.Today is a digital extension design platform easing the design and delivery of domestic extensions under Permitted Development (England).
Who is the platform intended for?
The platform is suitable for :

- Architects looking to expand or accelerate their design process.
- Contractors looking to provide design services and Contract drawings
What is Permitted Development?
Specifically this refers to clauses within The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development)(England) Order 2015. More commonly discussed in reference to domestic extensions (Permitted Development Class A) this is particular instances where you can extended you property without the requirement for Planning Approval.
This way, given certain criteria, you can move straight to technical design and onsite!

What if I want a design outside of Permitted Development?
Whilst the software is tailored to this niche in the market, we can still recommend local architects and in fact endorse the idea that these are always a necessary addition to include within a more bespoke or complex residential development outside of Permitted Development.

Will I still require Building Regulations Approval?
Yes, although this can be sought a number of ways. In its current early form the technical drawings created would still need to be approved by building control, however we are developing internal checking processes which will come as part of future updates.
Your builder or Contractor may prefer to go down a Building Notice route if applicable, but our drawing pack will still be important for Client, Contractor and Designer to all be on the same page.

What extensions are supported?
Our demo version supports only rear single storey extensions, soon to be included are double storeys, side extensions and timber frame construction alternatives (all under Permitted Development).
Interior design options are currently left for onsite discussion, as too often the case does a domestic Client typically need to experience the shell build to fully realise the connections to the existing.

Currently only desktop browsers are supported, but mobile devices including tablets will be added later.
